Barley - A wholesome grain.



Barley, is a versatile cereal grain with a rich nutlike flavor and an appealing chewy, pasta-like consistency. Its appearance looks like wheat berries, although it is slightly lighter in color. When fermented, barley is used as an ingredient in beer and other alcoholic beverages.

Some benefits of eating barley would be that barley controls blood sugar better and helps reduces blood pressure.

This is because barley is rich in beta-glucan, a soluble fiber which helps reduces glucose, insulin and as well as blood cholesterol levels

Usually, people would boil the barley in water to make barley drink and adjust the taste with some rock sugar. or sometimes barley might be added in soup. 

It also can be used in desserts as well, which is a very versatile grain.
